Necessity is the mother of invention

Although I haven’t invented anything, necessity has sure been the driving force for this post. A few of us share a common Novell mailbox at work. Since archiving is done locally on a single machine, it is not available to others. Tired of this, I migrated to Thunderbird a couple of months back. I set up my mailbox, created folders & message filters and a back-up utility. The only thing missing was my address book. While in Groupwise, names would auto-complete. This morning all forms of media were talking about the inauguration of the gleaming new Bandra-Worli sea-link by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Apart from breaking news on TV & front-pages of print media, the news board at Yashodham High School, where I had been to submit Chibu’s FYJC admission form, also followed the event. The not so ‘Shiney’ future of men

10 days back, while at the lunch table, the Shiney Ahuja case was all over the place. Since the food on Mondays doesn’t even qualify as comestible, we were all casting our views on the story while it was being covered live by some news channel. Hemant asserted that with the kind of looks & personality Shiney has, any girl he’d point at would be willing to go home with him*. On hearing this, Ivan got back like a shot – “Right!
